hey what's up everyone in this video I'm
going to be giving you some tips on
training and raising a German Shepherd
puppy or really any other puppy for that
matter okay let's get started
one thing that you should be doing is
playing and interacting with your puppy
in a constructive way and one of the
best ways to do this is through games so
a few of the games that I generally
recommend playing is tug-of-war playing
fetch with the ball or maybe plant some
scent or nose work games with your
puppies you don't want to just expect
your puppy to be out in the backyard
entertaining themselves are only playing
with other dogs really crucial that your
puppy learns that you are a source of
fun so one thing that we could do a
little tougher here I like to play
teaching us cuffing to buy and play with
the tug and if you for most companion
dog honors I generally recommend tying a
tug toy on a string so that you can
control the tongue to even animate it
like this also keeps it away from your
hand with most puppies especially German
Shepherd puppies they like to bite on
things and it's really impossible to
teach your puppy you're not to fly on
things but you can teach them what is
appropriate to bite on and what is
inappropriate to bite on such as your
arms and your fingers so clubs with your
puppy can be really beneficial on
teaching them what you want them to bite
on and what you don't so hug is a great
game just you want to make sure that
your puppies will release it when you
ask them to or you can be playing with
balls and other games tip number two
implement management protocols so it's
really important that we are able to
either supervisor puppies at all times
or we confine them to a crate or
possibly an exercise bin the last thing
that you want to do with young puppies
allow them to free-range in your house
unsupervised because I guarantee you
they're probably going to get into
trouble alright they're either going to
be chewing on something that you don't
want them to chew on possibly jumping up
on counters or if you're in the early
house train prop house training stage
they're going to be peeing or pooping
inside the home so it's really crucial
that you are able to supervise them and
when the best way to supervise them is
the use of a tether so here I just have
a piece of coated wire which you can
pick up at a hardware store I'm gonna
hook the puppy onto the coated wire hook
it onto the dog's collar give us a puppy
something to do like give a heart to
bone now this would be really easy for
me to supervise her because I know that
she can't wander off of this dog bed
here so if I was wanting to watch TV in
the evening or read something it's going
to be really easy for me to keep an eye
on her
the last thing you want is not knowing
where your puppy is at any given moment
because it's just going to create bad
habits so by telling your dog it makes
it really easy for you to supervise them
when you are not able to directly
supervise your puppy you should be using
that crate so with this puppy here so if
I'm not able to directly supervise the
puppy inside the home it's easy for me
to just put the puppy in a crate that
way I know that she is going to be safe
and not get into any dangerous household
items around the home
puppies are really good at getting into
trouble really quick so you want to make
sure that you have that peace of mind
that if you're going to just take a
shower for a few minutes that you're
able to put your puppy somewhere where
you know they're going to be safe you
can think of your crate as you would a
crib for a toddler just as you would not
let a toddler crawler on your home
supervise it's important that you don't
do the same thing with your puppy so
putting the puppy in a crate that's
going to give you peace of mind if
they're not going to start to develop
bad habits in your home remember you're
raising a puppy you do not have a dog
alright so in time as your dog your
puppy matures you're going to be able to
allow them more privileges and more free
time inside your home next tip start
incorporating your dog's meals with
training so instead of only always
feeding your dog out of their bowl start
putting your dog's kibble on you and
work them through various obedience cues
that are going to be really useful in
the future so you want to be always
practicing building your dog skill set
so I could have some kibble in one of my
pockets here Rotti so I can practice
doing things like come blink all seven
good and I was going to be giving this
away for free if I were going to be
feeding her out of the bowl so
practicing these various obedience cues
are going to really teach her that it's
fun to work with me and you get
something that you want out of it which
is food Roxie good girl down place and
so you can sort off real basic and then
work on advancing those obedience cues
as you progress in your dog's training
okay that's it for this video super
simple but I do see a lot of owners
struggling with a lot of various
behavior issues that could it be easily
resolved by just implementing some of
the tips that I just shared with you if
you have some tips that you feel that
have worked well for you feel free to
share them in the comment section below
and I will see you
in another video proxy
